Volunteer drivers needed

We are the Alabama rescue relay (arr)

The ARR is dedicated to the transportation of rescued dogs and cats rescued by shelters and rescue organizations within the State of Alabama, including Jefferson, Walker, Tuscaloosa, Marion, Shelby and Chilton Counties.  We are a group made up solely of volunteers in the Alabama area who transport rescued dogs and cats.

Driving can occur during any day of the  week, but much of it takes place on Thursdays and Saturdays.  ARR attempts to break down each relay drive into segments of less than 100 miles or about one and a half hours.

This type of car transportation is called

"legged runs."  However, that does not mean a driver will not be able to volunteer to drive two or more legs of the trip.  Volunteers will need to have appropriate crates for transport and it is best, although not required, that the volunteers drive some type of SUV or mini-van.  If you are interested in becoming a volunteer driver please contact us.
